Our Practices in Peoria & Washington, IL

Dr. Roger Fitch has enjoyed practicing optometry in Peoria since 1976. Dr. Fitch attended Illinois State University and graduated from the Southern College of Optometry in Memphis, Tennessee. After 10 years with Dr. Clarence Ward M.D., Dr. Fitch took over the practice of retiring optometrist Dr. Robert Russell. Dr. Fitch hopes to continue to practice for many more years, maintaining the friendships and trust that he’s developed with his patients.

Dr. Fitch has found optometry to be a fascinating, multi-faceted, and challenging profession. In addition to his general practice offices, since 1991, Dr. Fitch has enjoyed serving Central Illinois nursing homes and assisted living facilities with a mobile eye care clinic.

From 1995 to 2002, Dr. Fitch owned a contact lens manufacturing lab and made contacts for doctors around the state and his own patients. His years of experience in contact lens fitting enabled him to create his own lens design that has led to many happy contact lens wearers. Throughout his career, he has both studied and practiced behavioral optometry, which looks at the development of the visual system and how vision affects learning. To help improve academics for struggling kids and to help patients who have had a concussion or traumatic brain injury, Dr. Fitch has offered in-office vision therapy since 2003.

Fitch is a Fellow of the College of Syntonic Optometry. He is a member of the American Optometric Association, the Illinois Optometric Association, and the College of Optometrists in Vision Development.

Dr. Fitch and his wife Beth live in Peoria and have four married children. They attend Bethany Baptist Church. Dr. Fitch enjoys reading history, studying Christian apologetics, golfing when he can, artistic endeavors in various media, and time with his children and granddaughters.

Dr. Timothy Cundiff hails from East Peoria. He is a graduate of Peoria Notre Dame High School and Loras College in Dubuque, Iowa. In 2008, he graduated from the Indiana University School of Optometry. Dr. Cundiff then returned home to Peoria and joined Dr. Roger Fitch in practice at Vision Care Center.

In 2013, he was elected President of the Illinois Valley Optometric Society, and in 2014, he was named Young Optometrist of the Year in the State of Illinois. In 2015, he was elected as a Trustee for the Illinois Optometric Association. In 2021, he was sworn in as the President of the IOA at his Inauguration in Schaumburg.

In 2013, he served as the Chairman of the Young Professionals Organization of Greater Peoria and Chairman of the All-America City Campaign. He received the ultimate recognition of his efforts by being awarded the Key to the City by Peoria Mayor Jim Ardis at City Hall. In 2014, he received the Nova Award from the Creve Coeur Club of Peoria. In 2010, he was named on Peoria’s “40 Leaders under Forty.”

Dr. Cundiff serves on the Board of Directors for Wildlife Prairie Park and was a founding board member of the Peoria Riverfront Museum. He is the former President of the Central Illinois Chapter of the Indiana University Alumni Association. A collegiate athlete at Loras, he still plays baseball in the Peoria Sunday Morning League and is the President of the League—the oldest amateur baseball league in America.

Since 2019, Dr. Cundiff has played the role of FOLEPI – the official mascot of the East Peoria Festival of Lights.  In 2020, as FOLEPI, he helped the City of East Peoria win the Heavyweight Championship on the television show the “Great Christmas Light Fight”.  In 2022, he was awarded the Friend of the Community Award by the East Peoria Chamber of Commerce.

An on-air personality, Dr. Cundiff volunteers with WTVP, Peoria’s Public Broadcasting Station. He also presents a series of lectures to various audiences: students, parents, teachers, administrators, and the business community. The series, both motivational and educational, focuses on the important connection of vision with reading and learning.

Dr. Cundiff is a member of St. Philomena Catholic Church. He enjoys promoting our wonderful Greater Peoria region, and he enjoys spending time with family, friends, and bison.

Dr. Jennifer Wilson, a native of central Illinois, attended Lowpoint-Washburn grade school and Metamora Township High School.  After graduation she pursued her interest in the field of optometry and was employed by Dr. J. Allen Potter in East Peoria as an optician and technician, while attending Illinois Central College earning an associates degree.  She then went on to earn a bachelors in Biological Sciences from Eastern Illinois University.  Dr. Jennifer completed her optometry education at Illinois College of Optometry in Chicago in 2012, earning clinical honors during her first clinic rotation. 

Dr. Jennifer joined Vision Care Center part time in 2022 practicing in the Washington office. She is licensed to perform primary care optometry, including the treatment and management of ocular diseases such as glaucoma, diabetic retinopathy and macular degeneration. She enjoys seeing patients of all ages, with special interests in dry eye treatment, myopia management and contact lenses. 

She is a member of the American Optometric Association and Illinois Optometric Association. 

When not at Vision Care Center, Dr. Jennifer takes joy in attending church, reading the Holy Bible and learning how awesome Jesus the Messiah is!  She loves spending time with her family, homeschooling her sweet daughter and gardening.

Dr. Andrew Milder was born and raised in Ottumwa, Iowa. He is a graduate of Ottumwa High School, where he was active in sports and activities, including cross country, theatre, and show choir. He graduated magna cum laude from the University of Northern Iowa with a Bachelor’s degree in Communicative Sciences and Disorders. In 2023, he graduated with honors from Indiana University School of Optometry (IUSO). As a student, he earned membership in Beta Sigma Kappa Optometric Honor Society and worked as a tutor for the IUSO classes of 2024, 2025, and 2026.

Dr. Milder is excited to join Vision Care Center and to provide top-quality services to the community.
